When we proofread your work, we bring fresh eyes to it. Oftentimes writers see what they think they wrote rather than what they actually wrote. We catch common errors like homonyms, which are words like "your" and "you're" that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings, or using quotation marks where italics should be used. Because the eyes tend to slide over words, it's twice as hard to proofread your own work as it is to proofread another's work.
